Valentines Day Date Ideas

February 04, 2021

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and we think it’s the perfect excuse to plan something special with someone (or someones!) you love!

Not sure how to spend your Valentine’s Day weekend and/or tired of doing the same thing again and again?

We have some suggestions for you below!

Pack a Picnic and Head to Your Local Park or Beach

While we are firm believers in never needing a reason to put together a cheese board, Valentine’s Day is the PERFECT reason to pack a picnic basket and head somewhere nice to spend some quality time with the people you love.

It’s also a great way to make the most of the last few weeks of summer and think of all the cute Insta pics you’ll get!

Moonlight Cinema

The Moonlight Cinema is an outdoor movie theatre operating in all major Australian cities.

We love the concept of watching a movie under the stars, snuggled up with your loved ones.

The best part is you can bring your own food and drinks so you can go all out with your food setup or get some pizzas from your favourite pizza place! (if you’re in Adelaide, we highly recommend Chicco Palms or Sunny’s Pizza!)

Make sure you bring jumpers and blankets so you stay nice and warm through the night!

Sip & Paint

Wine and watercolour, what could possibly go wrong?

If you’re competitive like us, upload a picture of your paintings once you’re finished to Instagram story and get your followers to vote on whose painting is better!

Loser(s) buy(s) the winner a bottle of wine or dinner after!

Buy a Book and Read It Together

One of our favourite date night activities is going to a bookstore, picking a book out together and then reading and discussing the book once you’re done.

Think of it as a mini book club!

It’s also the ultimate loyalty test.

Are they going to read ahead without you, or not?

Flower Arrangement Class

Skip the expensive bouquet of flowers on Valentine’s Day and make your own instead!

It’s a fun twist on the tradition of gifting flowers for Valentine’s Day and is a lovely way to spend some quality time with your partner or friends.

Get Dressed Up and Cook A Fancy Dinner at Home

Okay, hear us out.

We know. We’ve already spent most of 2020 at home, why would we CHOOSE to stay home if we have the option of heading out?

For starters, restaurants are likely to be packed on Valentine’s Day, and if you’re anything like us and have left making a booking to the last minute, then this is your next best option!

Choose a cuisine you don’t normally cook and make a date of it with your partner or friends!

Once you’re finished, get dressed up and you’ve got yourself a fancy meal in the comfort of your own home!

The best part of this plan?

You can change into pyjamas right after dinner and proceed to your next activity for the night…..

Stay Home, Watch Netflix and Eat Your Favourite Snacks!

Is there a better way to spend the night than being cosy on your couch or bed with your favourite snacks?

If you’re in the mood for a cheesy romcom, we’d recommend 50 First Dates.

If you want to watch a love story that will make you cry, About Time is the movie for you.

For something a little more serious, watch Silver Linings Playbook.

Romance not the thing for you?

Go down the horror route and watch The Shining instead!

Want to make the night EXTRA special?!

Get dressed up for yourself and watch a movie in your favourite dress!

Whether you’re celebrating Valentine’s Day with your partner, your friends or your family, we hope you use this as an excuse to try something new or that you wouldn’t normally have done!

From us to you, Happy Valentine’s Day!
