Victoria and Jordan's Wedding

May 20, 2020

It’s not often that you meet your soulmate at a club on a night out, but that’s just what happened for Jordan and Victoria when they met at HQ Complex in Adelaide.

8 years later, they had traded in their late nights for quality time at the beach with their fur baby, when Jordan popped the question as the sun was setting.

Read about their big day below.

The Wedding Day: Jordan and Victoria got married at Al-Ru Farm in One Tree Hill on the 30th of November 2019. The day was laid back and casual, with guests sipping on aperol spritz’s accompanied by live acoustic music and lawn games in the gorgeous gardens of the Al-Ru Farm estate.

Special Touch: Jordan and Victoria wanted every member of their family to be present at their wedding. They utilized the services of “I Do Paws”, a doggy chauffeur company so that their beloved kelpie could be present for their ceremony and canapes in the garden.

The Vibe: The grounds at Al-Ru are beautiful, so Jordan and Victoria chose a rustic theme to best compliment and capture the essence of their wedding venue. The ‘barn’ where they hosted their reception had stunning chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and the walls were decorated with antique mirrors that the owner had collected from Paris over the years. Guest tables were decorated with a mixture of eucalyptus and baby’s breath.

Something That Made You Laugh? “We actually laughed a lot during the day! We wanted it to be a super relaxed and fun vibe for everyone. Our photographer, Zoe Campbell, helped make the day light-hearted during bridal party and family pictures. She even tried getting the dog to pose for the pictures! She took a great shot of Jordan and I having a sneaky slider between all the chaos!”

Favourite Moment: “At around 8pm, Zoe took us outside so that we could take bridal portraits as the sun was setting. We went to a little greenhouse on the property and we managed to have some time together, just us two. It is so important to set some time aside during your day/night so that you can take it all in. It was a perfect little moment in a perfect spot. This ended up being my favourite picture from the wedding!”

The Dress: Victoria is very petite and was feeling nervous that she wouldn’t be able to find a wedding dress that she loved. She booked an appointment at Jenny and Gerry’s Bridal where she was shown an Ezoani gown and assured to love it.

It ended up being the first dress she tried on and as soon as she put it on, she fell in love. No other dress compared to it and the detachable skirt meant that she had two different looks with the same dress.

She bought it the next day.

Bridesmaid Dresses: “Choosing bridesmaid dresses was actually the most daunting decision for me to make!”

Victoria’s three bridesmaid all had vastly different body types and she wanted to find dresses that they felt good in, while keeping with the theme of their wedding.

“I had been following Twosisters the Label for a while and had a lot of the dresses saved on my phone before I even got engaged!

Two of my bridesmaids were breastfeeding, so it was important to me that they felt comfortable in their dresses. When I called Twosisters to make an appointment for my bridesmaids to try on dresses at their head office in Adelaide, the girls were so flexible, which made it easy.

When we arrived at our appointment, all the dresses I had picked out were ready for my girls to try on and the Twosisters girls were super attentive to us.

A task that I was initially super stressed about ended up being a fun and stress-free process. I waited a week for all three sizes to become available online before I purchased them.”

Words of Advice? “I would 100% say not to sweat the small stuff. You can get so wrapped up in stressing over little things leading up to the wedding, you end up missing out on enjoying the build-up, which is one of the most important parts too!

I am honestly so grateful for how smoothly everything went (even if it did rain in the morning for a few hours!). I feel even more grateful today as I keep hearing of weddings being postponed or drastically changed due to the current situation with Covid-19. “
